Starting an HFL Ministry

There are several things that we ask every church to do before starting an HFL Ministry.  Please take the time to download and read each of the attached documents at the bottom of this page.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.  We look forward to serving with you in ministry.

Here's a short checklist of things to do to get started.

  1. Check Us Out!  We feel humbled and privileged to serve you, and we are happy to answer any questions you have about us and this ministry.  So please don't hesitate to contact us
  2. Pray  We strongly encourage you to take the time to review the information on this site and to seek God's will through prayer.
  3. Assemble an HFL Ministry Team  Assembling a ministry team is an essential part of starting an HFL Ministry.  The team approach
encourages commitment, creates purpose, fosters unity, establishes credibility, and reduces potential liability.  The team should consist of at least one Ministry Coordinator, the Church, and a Ministry Partner. These volunteer positions are defined in the Ministry Guide, which is attached below.  You must read the entire Ministry Guide before starting a ministry.
  4. Seek Support   The success of the ministry will depend on the support of your church or organization.  An information meeting about HOOKED FOR LIFE and your desire to start an outreach ministry should be presented to your pastor and/or the appropriate governing body.  We recommend that you share an overview of the ministry.  The website and the documents listed below are great resources to share with your church.
  5. Register Your Ministry  A Ministry Agreement and a Registration Form must be completed and submitted to HOOKED FOR LIFE prior to starting an HFL Outreach Ministry.  The agreement is between HOOKED FOR LIFE and the Church.   The agreement and the registration form are renewed yearly.  Registration forms must also be updated in cases where a position or status in the ministry team changes.  Upon receipt of the ministry agreement, registration form, and a suggested gift of $150, a confirmation letter along with the HFL Curriculum  and materials will be forwarded to the church.
  6. Develop & Submit   A Program Plan : We suggest that upon receiving the materials from HFL that your team meet to review the HFL Curriculum and develop a plan of activities and programs for the year.  This will give your team direction and the opportunity to set goals.  Checklists and planning suggestions are provided in the Ministry Guide.  We ask that a copy of the final plan be submitted to HOOKED FOR LIFE.  This will help us support you and let others know the great things you have planned.
